Musical drama series Smash premiered on NBC tonight and by all accounts (and judging by the response of you guys on Twitter) it was a huge hit.

We were pretty sure that since so many of you seemed to enjoy the pilot episode so much, you would be interested to see what is coming up in the second instalment, titled ‘Callbacks.’

In it, Ivy and Karen are called back (see where the title came from?) and asked to try out again for the role of Marilyn and both women go to long lengths in their bid to please Derek in order and win the part.

Meanwhile, Julia and her husband Frank get caught up in the mountain of red tape that surrounds their dream of an international adoption and Eileen’s nasty divorce causes problems for her, when it stands in the way of her attempt to finance the musical.

We also came across another little snippet for all you Smash fans today, when we read that due to some scheduling changes at NBC, series creator Theresa Rebeck was forced to remove 20 minutes worth of material from the pilot episode and put it into the second and third episode.

So you’re getting more bang for your buck this week!
