Rejoice, fans of the Alt-verse! Fringe has been renewed by Fox for a fifth and final season. I think most fans will agree that this is the best-case scenario that the fans could have hoped for.
Joel Wyman tweeted earlier today:
OFFICIALLY PICKED UP FOR 13 EPISODES! Our team thanks FOX/WB and our INCREDIBLE fans for their support. JHW/JP/AG
A final, 13 episode season will give the writers of the show the opportunity to wind up the labyrinthine, complex tale of two universes, one powerful love affair and a lot of freaky shit.

A dedicated group of Fringe fans is trying to make history with an inspired Twitter campaign to draw attention to the show. ABC has picked up Ellen DeGeneres new show The Smart One, after NBC passed up on the chance to air the show.
Bosses had acquired the comedy in October 2011, however they recently had a change of mind and passed on the series after their pilot order.
The half-hour comedy was created by the former American Idol judge and stars DeGeneres’ wife and former Ally McBeal actress Portia de Rossi as “a brilliant and successful woman who begrudgingly goes to work for her less-brainy but more popular sister – a former beauty queen, weather girl and now big-city Mayor.”

Michael C. Hall will be slaying as Showtime’s serial killer Dexter for at least another 24 episodes. Yep, in a spectacularly bullish move, the network has resolved their contract stalemate with Hall and renewed the show for two more seasons.
This comes on the back of the news that Dexter has gone from strength to strength in its current sixth series. According to E! Online, the sixth season premiere attracted its highest audience ever, 2.2 million viewers. Which, for a cable network is actually quite a decent figure.
